According to the USDA, “small farm operations make up almost 90 percent of the nation’s farms. Despite the vital role these producers play in their communities and local, state, and national economies, small farmers often struggle to access affordable sources of financing they need.”
Our agriculture program provides individual and group-organized instruction to improve our local food system by educating young farmers and consumers in the community. Specifically, our training modules are designed for all ages to assist those in production, agriculture, and agribusiness to become successfully established or to improve their current agricultural status. Our aim is to help you improve understanding and communication between the consumer public and the agricultural community regarding common concerns and issues.
We offer a variety of planned field days, workshops, and virtual events throughout the year with topics focusing on best practices for soil amendments, seeding, and irrigation.
